Emerging from the free festival movement of the early 1980s and shaped by extensive training and street performance across France, the UK, and Europe, his practice draws on clowning as service — playful, subversive, and deeply human.
As a very young performer, Grevil began playing in bands within the free festival movement of the early 1980s
He later ran away to join the circus, training as a clown and circus performer with influential teachers in Rotterdam, Bristol, and France
His craft was honed on the street performant and circus circuits of France, learning directly from audiences
Since then, he has performed extensively across France and the UK, from street events, children’s parties, village fêtes, and libraries to major festivals including Glastonbury Festival
The work is grounded in authentic folk performance, not novelty entertainment.
